Believe on the Lord Jesus,
and you will be saved,
you and your household.
Acts 16:31
I'm so happy you have stopped by my site. Last year I finished my Master's Degree to become a High School Guidance Counselor.
I am still teaching Spanish though and the way things look, I will be teaching for a while yet. Good thing I like my job. Recently people have been asking me questions like, "Can Christian mothers work?"
I don't have a pat answer for you on that. I can only answer for myself. I am a Christian and I am a working mother.
Please do not judge me or those you know who choose to work.
It's hard enough working and raising children without having to deal with the nagging criticism for working.
Many of us, myself included, believe that we have been called to work in our current occupation.
Furthermore, in our society, I fail to see why a bright young woman must choose between a career and a family.
As a teacher, I challenge my students to work hard to reach their goals. I do not think women should have to give them up because we want to have a family.
Sorry to get on a soap box about this, but I've received so many questions about this recently that I just had to say something.
If you wonder if it is Scriptural whether women should work or not, read The Wife of Noble Character in Proverbs 31, as she clearly works!
If you are a working mom and would like to fellowship with other Christian Working Moms, please check out the group that I moderate. Christian Moms Working Outside the Home.
